A five minute, cardboard robot

Cardboard Robot - CompleteSomehow this morning, the firstborn and I got into a discussion about robots, robots are pretty much the raddest thing going this month, be it songs, t-shirts, Pillow cases or pyjamas, robots are featuring pretty heavily at the moment. The conversation went something like this.

I am a robot! I am a Robot!! I AM a ROBOT!!! Dad make a robot me please? sic

So we made a cardboard robot. Nothing too serious, just a Flat Stanley (wow, that’s changed since I was a kid, seems like a good project though) kinda guy but loads of fun none the less. And it was an excuse for me to use some of the ever-growing pile of cardboard, If you didn’t already know, I’m a bit mad for cardboard.

First we drew the various bits on the back of a Salada box (They’re saltine type crackers if you don’t have them where you live), then we cut them out and finally, we* stuck them back together. Pics below, As you can see, the lad loves it , so I thought you might too.

*When I say “We”, I really mean I :)

  1. Very cute robot – and I love the last sentence how often that happens in our house I have lost count.

Thank you for linking up to Tuesday Tots

      Hey Cerys,
I love the whole link up thing. Totally new to that, wasn’t sure if I did it right, but very cool way to find heaps of kids stuff!
And yeah, a lot of the time it’s Dad driving the cardboard toys:) But thats cool, the kids still have fun.

      Thanks for coming by.
